Mike Halvorson ‘66 Receives Alumni Volunteer Award

The MCAD Alumni Association honored alumnus Mike Halvorson with the 2009 Alumni Volunteer Award. Mike has demonstrated his philanthropic spirit and commitment to MCAD through his longstanding and generous financial support to the College as well as his volunteer leadership, serving both on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and the College’s Board of Trustees. A 1966 graphic design graduate of MCAD, Mike is the founder and principal of Halvorson and Associates, an independent, multi-faceted design agency located in Minnetonka. Mike credits his experience while a student as MCAD as formative. “It not only taught me to think conceptually about design as creative problem-solving, it also instilled a deep sense of community responsibility.” Mike was given the Volunteer Award by MCAD Alumni Association board member Gary Springer ’63 (pictured above) at the College’s May 2009 commencement.
