Alumni Board Welcome President Coogan
Welcoming MCAD's New President
Current and former members of the Alumni Association Board of Directors hosted an informal gathering on August 6 to meet and welcome Jay Coogan, who began his tenure as the College’s 16th president in July. “Jay’s passion to art and design education is impressive, especially his commitment to greater collaboration between the College and our alumni community, said Mike Keefe ’86, president of the MCAD Alumni Association. Coogan comes to MCAD after an accomplished career at Rhode Island School of Design where he began as a faculty member in 1982 and has held multiple leadership positions, including most recently as provost. In addition to his work as a teacher and college administrator, Jay also has a background as an artist, holding an MFA degree in sculpture from Hunter College.
